Frequently asked questions.

Licensing, deposits, paint brands, timing, warranty. The questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Call (719) 492-3176.

Yes. Confident Coatings & Exteriors Inc. is a licensed Colorado contractor in good standing. We carry the credentials and the paperwork to back it up, and we are happy to share a copy of our license and proof of insurance before any work begins.
Yes. Workers' comp and general liability. Certificates of insurance are available upon request and we'll happily send them before any job starts.
Yes. We are EPA lead-certified, which federal law requires for any work that disturbs paint in homes built before 1978. If your home falls in that window, we follow the lead-safe procedures the EPA mandates and document the process for you.
Plenty. Our Facebook and Google reviews are full of them, and on request we are happy to connect you with past clients in your own neighborhood so you can see the work in person and ask them how the project went.
For most jobs, no. You pay the full amount when the work is finished and you've walked the property with us. We don't ask for money up front.
Comprehensive. Interior or exterior. We cover all areas with plastic, drop cloths, masking paper, and tape, and we patch sheetrock, putty nail holes, scrape, sand, caulk, and prime as needed. We invite you to inspect the prep before any paint goes on.
Yes. We give expert color guidance based on your home, your neighborhood, and how Colorado sun ages different colors. We'll put test samples on the wall before you commit.
Most jobs finish within a week. A typical single-family exterior runs two to four working days. Interior projects vary depending on rooms and finishes, and stucco repair adds a day or two.
Yes. In most cases we leave the leftover paint with you for future touch-ups, labeled by room or surface so it is easy to find later. If you ever run out, the brand and color are written into your proposal so any store can match it exactly.
Yes. Every project carries a written warranty with terms spelled out in your proposal. Exterior painting comes with a 12-year written warranty, and if anything fails inside that window we come back and make it right at no cost.
We use many top-brand paints. Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Kelly-Moore, and others, selected for the surface, the conditions, and your preference. The exact brand and product is named in your written proposal.
On site. We mix small test patches with different aggregates and trowel patterns until the new texture matches the existing wall. After painting, the patch is invisible. Most contractors skip this step.
Both, depending on the roof type. Tile, metal, and shingle roofs can be painted with the right specialty primer and topcoat. Flat and low-slope roofs are better candidates for a reflective elastomeric coating, which extends the roof's life and lowers your AC bill.
Some. Stucco repair, interior painting, and certain coating systems can be done in cold weather. Exterior latex paint generally needs daytime temps above 50°F. We will tell you honestly whether your project should wait for spring.
You don’t have to. We do. We cover landscaping, walkways, vehicles, and adjacent surfaces with plastic, drop cloths, masking paper, and tape. Daily clean-up is part of the job.
Colorado Springs is our home base. We work the entire Front Range from Castle Rock and Larkspur down through Monument, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Canon City, Florence, Pueblo, Peyton, and 30+ other communities.
Nothing. Estimates are free and we never ask for a deposit. You pay the full amount when the work is finished and you have signed off on it.
