Solid-color & semi-transparent finishes built for freeze-thaw
Solid-color & semi-transparent finishes built for freeze-thaw
A Colorado deck takes a beating: snow load in winter, intense UV in summer, and freeze-thaw all spring. The right finish, applied to the right prep, is the only thing standing between you and grey, splintered boards in three years.
Solid-color vs semi-transparent
Solid-color stains and paints give you full UV blocking and consistent color, but they show wear at high-traffic areas. Semi-transparent stains let the wood grain through and weather more gracefully, but need re-coating sooner. We talk through the trade-offs on the walk and recommend what fits your deck and lifestyle.
What's included
- Low-pressure wash with professional cleaners and brighteners
- Sanding of high-traffic surfaces and any failed previous coatings
- Replacement of obviously failed boards, with matching dimension lumber
- Two coats of finish, brushed or rolled to penetrate properly
- Railing, balusters, and stair risers finished to match
- Daily clean-up, no overspray, no surprises
When to repaint vs restore
If your deck is fading but structurally sound, painting refreshes the look. If the wood is grey, splintered, or the previous finish is peeling badly, you want full restoration first. We help you make that call honestly, even when it means the bigger project.
